Appointment underscores Empower’s leadership in retirement, investing and expanding financial opportunity for Americans

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo., October 15, 2026 — Empower today announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Edmund F. Murphy III has been elected to the Board of Governors of the Investment Company Institute (ICI), the leading trade association representing regulated investment funds worldwide.

Murphy joins a distinguished group of financial services executives who provide strategic leadership and direction to ICI as it advocates for policies that support investors, strengthen capital markets and advance innovation across the investment management industry.

ICI’s Board of Governors comprises senior executives and leaders from across the investment management industry. The board helps guide the association’s policy priorities, research and advocacy efforts on behalf of regulated funds and the investors they serve.

Murphy was elected alongside seven other industry leaders. ICI also announced that Andrew Schlossberg, President and CEO of Invesco Ltd., will serve a second year as Board Chair, and George Walker, Chairman and CEO of Neuberger Berman, will serve a second year as Vice Chair.
