New partnership expands Empower's support of golf, backing one of the game's rising collegiate stars
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, COLO., October 23, 2026 — Empower, a leading provider of retirement and wealth management solutions, today announced a new name, image, and likeness (NIL) partnership with Stanford University golfer Jay Leng, Jr., marking the company's first endorsement agreement with a collegiate athlete.
The partnership expands Empower's longstanding commitment to golf and reflects a shared focus on preparation, discipline, and long-term success. Leng, 21, is among the world's top-ranked amateur golfers and has established himself as one of the sport's most promising young competitors.
"Jay represents an exciting new generation of talent in golf," said Edmund F. Murphy III, President and Chief Executive Officer of Empower. "His dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence reflect many of the same principles that guide how we help people prepare for their financial futures. We're proud to support Jay as he continues his collegiate career and pursues his goals on and off the course."
A junior at Stanford University and a San Diego native, Leng is currently ranked No. 10 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.1 He has enjoyed a standout 2026 season, finishing runner-up at the U.S. Amateur Championship, winning the Western Amateur Championship and Men's Elite Amateur Cup, and earning a place on the 2026 U.S. Walker Cup team. 2
His runner-up finish at the U.S. Amateur also earned him exemptions into the 2027 Masters Tournament and U.S. Open.
"I'm excited to partner with Empower and join a team that supports so many accomplished golfers," said Leng. "Golf has taught me the importance of preparation, staying focused, and always looking ahead. Those are values I share with Empower, and I'm looking forward to representing the brand as I continue my journey."
Leng will be wearing the Empower logo on his apparel and will debut the sponsorship at the PGA TOUR's Butterfield Bermuda Championship this week.
The partnership with Leng builds on Empower's longstanding support of professional golf, including relationships with PGA TOUR golfers Cameron Young, Kurt Kitayama, Davis Riley, and Webb Simpson, and LPGA Tour golfers Lexi Thompson, Cheyenne Knight, Jennifer Kupcho, and Mariah Stackhouse.
The sponsorship also expands Empower's broader sports marketing initiatives. In 2019, Empower entered into a 21-year agreement with the Denver Broncos for the naming rights to Empower Field at Mile High and a sponsorship of the Colorado Rockies. In South Florida, Empower sponsors the Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami Open tennis tournament and the Formula 1® Miami Grand Prix. Empower also supports Boston College athletics.
