RELX 401(k) Plan

Self-directed brokerage account (SDA)

If you are an experienced investor who is comfortable researching and selecting your own investments, the self-directed brokerage account (SDA) gives you access to bonds, exchange traded funds and publicly traded stocks on major U.S. exchanges and thousands of mutual funds. An SDA also provides you with the opportunity to invest in vehicles that are available outside the plan’s target date retirement funds, low-cost index funds and actively managed funds.

Keep this information in mind, if you’re interested in directing your own investments:

  • A $500 minimum transfer amount applies to initial and subsequent transfers.
  • Lump sum transfers cannot exceed 95% of your current account balance.
  • Once your SDA has been established, you will need to fund it by transferring monies from your plan’s core investments.
