of Counties
MTA, BTA and CMA boundaries are based on counties. Some
carriers have built their own license boundaries showing
their service and market areas.
However,
these boundaries may be inaccurate if they don't account
for the fact that the FCC has allowed some counties to
be subdivided (or apportioned) to create license
boundaries. The number of apportioned counties and the
effected population is significant as shown by these
maps.
