MapXtreme is a mapping application server for cost-effective, broad deployments of mapping over the Internet or your Intranet. Available in Java Edition or Windows NT.

Applications running on a managed server network offer huge economies of scale - lowering hardware and administrative costs - while dramatically improving application performance, reliability and security. Companies who once found mapping costs prohibitive can now offer it at lower cost per user than ever before.

With MapXtreme, companies can visualize their data on a map to find new relationships and trends that don't show up on spreadsheets and reports. Leading companies use mapping to make important decisions: where to market and sell, how to manage and protect assets, and how to transport products efficiently.

MapXtreme, Java Edition, gives you multi-platform, high quality, high performance, and easy-to-use mapping products. Users have invested in UNIX because it performs, it's secure and it's reliable. They want UNIX.

Benefits of MapXtreme Java Edition

Multi-platform
Many organizations using spatial analysis have mixed-hardware environments, or prefer UNIX servers for scalability, performance and reliability. With Java on the server-side, existing UNIX or Windows NT resources can be used.

Highly scalable
For many enterprises, spatial analysis is vital. Mapping applications have to work and support all the users who need access from a corporate intranet or the Internet. MapXtreme Java, designed from the ground up as a server, is a cost-effcient way to give everyone in the organization access to maps.

Write once, run anywhere
When developed in a Java environment, MapXtreme Java applications can be migrated and reused regardless of future hardware or platform choices.

Fast application prototyping/deployment
To help users get up and running as fast as possible, MapXtreme includes a commercial Internet Development Environment and Application Server (Hahtsite), as well as   sample applications for Java environments like Net Dynamics and Microsoft's Active Server Pages. It is compatible with all Web servers/browsers and there are no proprietary plug-ins.

State-of-the-art
MapXtreme contains many new technical innovations using Java, and server features that are unavailable in any other application server.

Mapping Features

bulletThematic mapping allows users to assign values to different areas on the map and display value ranges.
bulletExport Formats -- MapXtreme exports GIF formats. Map Display will work with any MapInfo format map (.tab). This includes all the maps that work with Microsoft Excel's Map feature, raster maps (.tiff images), street maps and seamless map sheets.
bulletLayer control allows users to manage multiple layers of geographic information, such as data layer colors, zoom layering, visibility, and label styles.
bulletSpatial selections allow users to select and work with spatial data at a specified location, within a rectangle, within a given radius, and within a polygon (such as a State).
bulletGeocoding lets users place locations-- such as customers--on a map to the level of ZIP Code centroids. MapInfo's street-level geocoding tool, MapMarker, is available for tight integration with MapXtreme.
bulletMaps and data including a world map, major cities, popular boundaries and more is included at no extra cost.
